Served from 1902 to 1904 with 3.Komp.Füss Artillerie Regt.Enche (Magdeburgisches) No.4.

He transferred to Res.Übungs Batt.Fussart.Regt.10 in 1906.

After the mobilization of 1914 he served until 1915 in 1.Ers.Batterie Fuss Art.Regt.19.

In 1916 to 1917 in the 1.Ers.Batterie Fuss Art. Regt. 13 and finally in 1918 he served at Fuss Art.Batterie 717.

Sergeant Pöhlmann fought in Flanders, Somme, St.Quintin and Champagne, among others.
